The Hidden Gem That Could Frustrate Pogba's Real Madrid Dreams

This summer transfer window seems to only have one name under its description: Reeeeaaaallll... MADRID! SUUUUUUU!

Madrid fans (not Atletico. Sorry guys) should be very happy to see how their beloved team is spending this summer: Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo, Eder Militao, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard. The white team clearly wants to start a revolution, and that's why Zinedine Zidane is giving the Spanish giants a good make over for next season. But, there's still more new faces to come.

Real Madrid still has plenty of money to spend this transfer window (Barcelona... WTF ARE YOU DOING!? F***** LEARN, OK!?), so they've shortlisted many players to improve their midfield, which is clearly one of the areas "Los Blancos" need more change in. The likes of Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba sound as the main reinforcements for the 2019/20 season. But, the list of candidates is expanding as both players could be quite expensive, specially after the market inflation. Neymar, what have you done!?

Reports from Spain say that Juventus' play-maker Miralem Pjanic could be the perfect Plan B, in case Pogba's transfer fails and the French man signs a new contract with United. There's a better option, however, (and much cheaper. Who said cheaper? said Florentino in the background) that Real Madrid should go for. Forget Pogba! Forget Eriksen! Forget Pjanic!

Every team in Europe should go for this guy. Really! He's outstanding! I still don't understand why he hasn't joined any big team yet. THIS GUY SHOULD BE THE REAL PLAN B! PLAN A EVEN! You are asking yourself who am I talking about, right? Pretty easy: Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman, who is clearly being overshadowed by the transfer talk about his teammate, De Ligt, just turned 22. Fact number "uno": He's younger than any of the three players I mentioned before, and fits perfectly into Real Madrid's signings. The great season he has had with Ajax endorses him to join a big European club this upcoming season.

The young Dutch star has played over 3,498 minutes with Ajax (57 games), he has started in 50 matches and has been fundamental for Ten Hag and his schemes. Specially against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Van de Beek has scored 17 goals and gave 13 assists in the amazing season by "baby Ajax". He also has a clean injury record and hasn't missed any games due to suspension. What a good boy!

Clearly, his great match at the Bernabéu called everyone's attention in Madrid, as many point out that Van de Beek could become a future world class midfielder. That's why Real Madrid have been scouting him for a while, as he could be a possible replacement if Modric leaves (Where? IDK) and if Eriksen and Pogba's deals don't go as planned.

The Dutch midfielder has goal, assists and he fits very well into the Real Madrid philosophy. At Ajax, Donny took the lead of the team in their tie against Juventus, and his contribution was key, with a goal included, to eliminate the Italian side from the competition. Now, with Frenkie gone and De Ligt "mostly" gone, it seems like Van de Beek will be the next Ajax star to leave the club this summer (Tadic? Neres? Ziyech?). But, he won't be going for free.

His price? According to Transfermarkt, his market value is at £40 million, although, if there are more interested club, his price could skyrocket to around £60 or £70 million. Clearly, he's much cheaper than Pogba (Fact number "dos": Cheaper always sounds better. Don't you agree, Zidane?).

So, the question now is: Will Real Madrid stick to Paul Pogba's signing? Or will Donny be the surprise for Zidane's Real Madrid second project? Barcelona... Sign him! Please!
